Coming from a running background I thought snowshoeing would be a great way to stay fit during the winter. Little did I realize that running on the snow at altitude is much more painful than racing on pavement or around in circles. After my first race at Beaver Creek I swore to never snowshoe again. However, I've come to love the challenge of snowshoeing, because here I am, four years later, still at it. Working in child welfare can at times be a draining job, and I use snowshoeing and training for Xterra triathlons as a way to keep myself balanced and healthy - and as an outlet for my somewhat competitive side. Outside of sports I love to travel and have recently gotten in touch with my "girly" side and begun knitting and sewing
Have fun, compete in local races including the Beaver Creek Snowshoe Series, and compete at the National Championships.
