Occupation: Teacher and Business Owner

Years on Atlas Racing: A handful

My Story:
I'm a teacher and serve as a self-contained, behavior disabilities classroom teacher for troubled teens. I have found that without working out, especially in winter when it gets harder to do, I'd go nuts and my wife might kill me. An hour in the setting sun in a pair of snowshoes with my dog or "my doggs" (buddies/wife) alongside is a great way for me to keep my sanity and to stay pretty fit as well. I've been top five at Snowshoeing Nationals the last two years and made the podium at the Jeremy Wright Memorial 10K last winter, which I consider to be one of the most competitive races on the circuit. I've just begun doing Xterra triathlons in the summer season and hope to use snowshoeing as a big base builder. I run, swim, mountain bike, snowshoe, play drums in a garage band, and like to get people outside anytime I can. It's never too cold if you can get a sweat going.

Season Goals:
Promote snowshoeing as alternative winter training to treadmill runners.
