Edelsberg (1629 m) and Alpspitze (1575 m) are the highest mountains of the Allgäu in Germany just east of Garmisch-Partenkirchen near the Austrian border. They offer a good view of the foothills of the Alps and the high Allgäu to the south.
This video shows Christo Hutchel’s snowshoe tour traveling to Nesselwang went up across the shoulder from the west, past the sports center Böck, down to the Kappeler Alm and later via Kreuzweg via Mariasberg to the parking lot of the Alpspitzbahn valley station.
Edelsberg (1629 m) und Alpspitze (1575 m) sind die nördlichsten höheren Berge des Allgäus und bieten eine entsprechend gute Aussicht auf das Alpenvorland und die hohen Allgäuer im Süden. Auch sie sind als Schneeschuhtour wohl bei ziemlich allen Lawinenverhältnissen zu gehen.
Diesmal ging es von Nesselwang westlich über die Schulter hinauf. Vorne hinab, vorbei am Sportheim Böck, hinab zur Kappeler Alm und später weiter über Kreuzweg via Maria Berg zum Parkplatz der talstation Alpspitzbahn.
